Principal's Message

Mr. Alan Yanku
Principal of Brooklyn Middle School
Brooklyn, Connecticut

September 1, 2017
Dear Families :

You are cordially invited to our Open House at Brooklyn Middle School held on Wednesday, September 6, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. We hope you will be able to attend.

We will start with a very brief informational presentation in the auditorium. Following the presentation in the auditorium you will travel to your students’ team area to meet the grade level teachers, and you will have the opportunity to meet with the related arts teachers.  Teachers will provide information and answer questions that you may have.  Please note that a High School Choice Fair will be running concurrently with our Open House. Although geared for 8th grade families, any grade level family may visit the High School Choice Fair.

We encourage you to stay actively involved in your child’s education, however, we ask that you recognize that the purpose of our Open House is to provide you an opportunity to meet your students’ teachers and receive a general overview of the school and the team. Also, please be aware that the content of the Middle School Open House is geared for parents.  That being said, if you have individual concerns or wish to meet with the team or individual teachers, they will be glad to meet with you privately at another time.  You may call or email the team or the teacher to arrange an appointment. Also, administration and support staff will be available throughout the evening to assist you.

We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, September 6th.

Alan Yanku, Principal                    Heather Tamsin, Assistant Principal
